Bruce Latimer graduated in civil
engineering in 1969 and began training with a well established practice of public health consulting engineers in
Edinburgh, carrying out work on sewage treatment design and housing estate site servicing,
He then moved to Glasgow and joined a large consulting engineering practice as an engineering assistant on design and site supervision of
water retaining structures and sewers.
Employment as an assistant engineer with Southern Water followed involving office and site work on water mains of different materials
and water treatment works.
He then returned to consultancy at a senior level, specialising in
building services and site infrastructure, covering hot and cold water
services, surface and wastewater drainage and fixed fire-fighting services
for domestic, commercial, retail, industrial, hospital and prison
sites.
