Ian White served an apprenticeship with a leading London based Consulting Practice and continued with his studies to
obtain a diploma in Electrical Engineering.
He progressed with this Practice to lead a team of engineers working on commercial and industrial work throughout the
United Kingdom.
He then joined John Laing's based multi-service Contracting Organisation responsible for the design and co-ordination of buildings and site services for a variety of major projects in the industrial and commercial fields.
He was then invited to join Unilever as a Senior Manager during which period he held various positions in
Project Management, Factory Management, Management Consultancy and Company Electrical Engineering.
This work covered building services, site services, production engineering, packaging engineering and
energy management, all on a large scale in various locations throughout the United Kingdom and overseas.
Returning to the contracting industry, he became The General Manager and subsequently Managing
Director
controlling an International Company engaged on design
and construction of mechanical and electrical services in the United Kingdom, Europe and the Middle East.
Before forming his own Practice in 1979 he served as a Consultant to a National Mechanical and Electrical
Contractor in the position of Assistant to the Chairman.
